BREAK-AWAY HOSE ASSEMBLIES
Smart-Hose® Safety System
The LL3-B BREAK-AWAY hose assembly is designed to protect the plant, tank truck, rail car, loading arms, and workforce from the hazardous consequences of an unintentional pull-away incident. The hose assembly contains valves in each end to stop product flow in the event of a catastrophic hose failure, plus, the added feature of a break-away fitting on one end that is designed to separate at a pre-determined pull-force in the event of a pull-away. The amount of pull force it takes for the system to fail-safe is directly related to the angle of the pull-away.

NOTE: DO NOT use the Smart-Hose® Technologies Break-Away System as a swivel device for installation.
The Smart-Hose® Break-Away Hose Assembly System will arrive equipped with a rubber bumper guard and safety wire. The safety wire prevents the assembly from being used as a swivel device during facility installation. Using the break-away system as a swivel device can compromise the integrity of the internal seals. DO NOT remove the wire or rubber bumper guard. All Smart-Hose® Technologies’ warranties will be void if the rubber bumper and/or safety wire is cut or removed.
