CGA - Compressed Gas Association
The Compressed Gas Association (CGA) is a non-profit trade association and standards developer dedicated to promoting safety standards and safe practices in the industrial, medical, and specialty gas industries.
Member companies worldwide work together through the committee system within CGA to create technical specifications, safety standards, and training and educational materials; to cooperate with governmental agencies in formulating responsible regulations and standards; and to promote compliance with these regulations and standards in the workplace.
As a member company of CGA, Smart-Hose Technologies is committed to the continued development of safety practices and innovations in the industrial gas industry. Select Smart-Hose Technologies’ on-staff industry thought leaders attend the annual conference, participate in relevant educational seminars, and dedicate their time and expertise on the following committees:
Bulk Distribution Equipment and Standards
Joseph Vattai, Design Certifying Engineering; Voting Level — Promotes safety in the design, manufacture, operation, and maintenance of bulk distribution equipment and systems for industrial gases, cryogenic liquids, and related products.
Distribution and Fleet Safety
Joseph Vattai, Design Certifying Engineering; Voting Level — Keeps current of the rules and regulations regarding hazardous materials and other transportation matters that affect the members of the Association; provides a forum to study driver safety and operation, and to exchange information on the operation of transportation equipment; coordinates with other standing committees in the exchange of pertinent information; recommends actions to be taken by the Association and CGA member companies on matters pertaining to Transportation; provides input to the preparation of the Association’s response on transportation matters; ensures that matters of interest and concern relating to various modes of transportation are covered adequately; takes other actions as may further the mutual interest of the members in matters that concern transportation and transportation safety.
Hydrogen Technology
Andrea McMurtrie Guevara, President/CEO; Voting Level — Promotes safety by facilitating the generation of classification guidelines and standards for pressure vessels and other shipping containers (manufacturing, use, and re-qualification), associated appurtenances, and storage and filling systems used in metal hydride and alternate hydrogen fuel technologies.
NAHAD - National Association of Hose and Accessories Distributors
NAHAD members include companies worldwide, engaged in the distribution and manufacturing of all types of hose, tubing, couplings, fittings, clamps and related accessories. Members commit to comply with the NAHAD Code of Business Conduct, promoting high professional business and product standards and ethical conduct in dealing with customers, suppliers, and competitors. NAHAD provides a medium for member companies to confer, consult and cooperate in the solution of problems affecting the industry.
Smart-Hose Technologies is an active member and participant in NAHAD events and educational opportunities. Key Smart-Hose Technologies stakeholders attend and exhibit at the annual conference to keep industry associates up-to-date on our product line. In addition, we engage in select online seminars throughout the year to keep abreast of industry trends.
NAHAD Hose Safety Institute
NAHAD Members who also agree to fabricate hose assemblies in compliance with NAHAD Hose Assembly Guidelines (and who meet additional criteria) may also become members of NAHAD’s Hose Safety Institute. HSI members incorporate a series of prescribed best practices and industry-leading guidelines into their business culture, and follow strict design and fabrication standards that are dedicated to hose safety, quality, and reliability.
Smart-Hose Technologies has been a NAHAD Hose Safety Institute (HSI) Member in good standing since 2020.
NAHAD - Hose Safety Awareness Week
NAHAD, through the Hose Safety Institute, provides education and training through a series of prescribed best practices, educational webinars, downloadable resources, and hands-on instruction throughout the year.
To enhance these efforts, NAHAD has designated the week of September 8–14, 2024 Hose Safety Awareness Week. This is a week when members can come together to highlight the actionable safety approaches implemented within their daily business operations to keep staff and customers safe.

NPGA - National Propane Gas Association
The National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) is the national trade association representing the United States propane industry. 2,400 NPGA members provide opportunities for new business development and networking at many events throughout the year. NPGA gives the industry a unified voice. It delivers positions and concerns to legislative decision makers. NPGA’s active advocacy programs at the state, local, and federal levels rely on scientific, economic, and legal analysis to support policy positions.
Key Smart-Hose Technologies associates participate in the yearly Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo with an exhibit designed to keep our industry associates up-to-date on our product line and solutions for the safe transfer of propane gas.
